Gage ~ Old French meaning oath
We named our son Gage Joseph. His father and I were going through a Dictionary of Famous People and he saw an obscure Mathematician's Surname "Gage" and we both liked it. I later found it in one baby name book as being old French meaning "oath".
Joseph was for the multitude of Josephs in both our families, but namely our baby's Great Grandfathers.
