When we found out that I was expecting a baby, there was an instant debate on what to name the new little bundle of joy. My husband is first generation Italian, and I am half Italian so we decided to find an Italian name. We found out at the ultrasound that we were having a boy so at least that narrowed down the choices. Tradition is to name the firstborn male after his Grandfather, but I didn't want to name my son after anyone. We finally decided that we would use my husband's father's name for a middle name and choose an Italian name that was still fairly modern (Luigi, Salvatore, Pasquale were just a bit too Italian for me). That left us with deciding on a first name for a boy.
We didn't actually decide on the first name until my son was born, then Marco seemed to fit perfectly.
