When I was 3 months pregnant with my first baby, the horror of September 11 welcomed us to another day. My husband and I were convinced we were going to have a boy, (for which we had no conclusive evidence as we didn't find out what the sex of the baby was at our 19 week ultra sound!). It was a very stressful time for us, as my family had not long since moved to Vancouver, Canada, where during the events of 9/11 all flights into the US were being diverted. Being so far away from each other was scary.
We decided that we'd better chose a name for a girl about a month before my due date. It had to be a name that was going to give our baby a future. We believe that there is much in a name, so we started looking around for an unusual, yet meaningful name. We came up with Mercy Olivia-Anne. Combined, these 3 names mean kindness to one's enemies, peace and graceful! What a beautiful name for a beautiful daughter born April 2002. She is all of these and more!
