The Siblings' Busy Book
by Lisa Hanson and Heather Kempskie

The other day, my brother-in-law was lamenting over what to do with his 2 and 3 year olds while his wife works on Saturday mornings. My husband and I gave him lots of suggestions, but he looked at us like we're nuts. Meadowbrook Press to the rescue! I gave him my review copy of The Siblings' Busy Book by Lisa Hanson and Heather Kempskie, and his eyes lit up. The next week, he had so much fun with his kids that nobody missed Mommy a bit!

At StorkNet, we're big fans of the Busy Book collection published by Meadowbrook Press. This latest addition to the series is a new favorite! The Siblings' Busy Book is a delightful book for parents of children ages 3 months to 9 years. The beauty of the book is that for each activity there are instructions for every age so your baby can participate with your toddler, preschooler or school age child. For any parent who has struggled to include both or all of her/his children in the same activity - or for any parent like my brother-in-law who has run out of ideas - you'll be thrilled with The Siblings' Busy Book.

The authors are identical twins who each have two children; they were pregnant together both times, delivering just 5 months apart and 2 weeks apart. They know the importance and joy of a strong sibling relationship. Wanting the same for their own children, they designed The Siblings' Busy Book. Each of the 200+ activities has been kid-tested (and mom-tested!) and is guaranteed fun with a minimum of expense.

The activities are divided into eleven chapters:
 #1 Rainy Day Fun:
 #2 Let's Pretend:
 #3 Music & Movement:
 #4 Outdoor Adventures:
 #5 Out and About:
 #6 Learning & Exploring:
 #7 Team Family:
 #8 World Family:
 #9 Arts & Crafts:
#10 In the Kitchen
#11 Seasons & Holidays

For an example of an activity, see Canvas Painting in our Crafts for Kids cubby.

Each activity is designed to not only entertain but teach children how to work and play together. Imagine watching your children strengthen their sibling bond and create some precious memories in the process. Who knows - you may just be creating some new family traditions with the "seasons and holidays" chapter activities that your children will pass down to their own children some day.

The Siblings' Busy Book is a gem that it will provide parents and siblings with hours of entertainment. Do your family a favor and get a copy of The Siblings' Busy Book by Lisa Hanson and Heather Kempskie.
