StorkNet's Breastfeeding Cubby

Success Second Time Around
Jane's story:

I had a breast reduction in 1990 and tried feeding my first DD fairly unsuccessfully for around 3 months whilst supplementing with formula. It was a nightmare trying to BF and then pump and then bottle feed; I hated it.

This time I really wanted to make a go of it and so I had an LC come out and see me 3 weeks after DD2 was born. She was great. Helped me with my latch and told me about DPD (Motilium). I then went on a search on the net to see if I could find anyone else that breastfed after reduction surgery and found a wonderful support group: www.bfar.org. I joined their mailing list and then found a source for DPD from NZ and ordered my supply. I have been taking Fenugreek as well and have been breastfeeding exclusively for 6.5 months now. WOO HOO.
