Cloth Diapers Cubby

Lorraine shares her Diaper-Views!

This month, Lorraine shares her diaper-views with us.

StorkNet: How many children do you have and have you cloth diapered all of them?

Lorraine: I have 4 children so far and all of them have been diapered in cloth religiously.

StorkNet: What motivated you to cloth diaper your children?

Lorraine: ? I think for me the fact that my mother used cloth diapers on all of us kids was definitely a factor, and the fact that I babysat tons as a teen and into my early twenties and most of the mothers I babysat for used cloth diapers on their kids.

StorkNet: How long have you been cloth diapering?

Lorraine: 8 full years now and counting.

StorkNet: How has cloth diapering changed for you over the years?

Lorraine: Cloth diapering hasn't at all changed for me as diapering with cloth in our home still means safety pins and rubber pants. Nothing modern just the old-fashioned way.

StorkNet: What has been the most challenging thing about cloth diapering for you?

Lorraine: For a time we had 3 in diapers and at the end of a day that amounted up to some 30 or more diapers.

StorkNet: Have you ever used a cloth diaper service?

Lorraine: ? Yes and it was an absolute blessing in disguise for the first several weeks after the birth of our first two babies. What a time saver!

StorkNet: What part have disposable diapers played in your diapering experience through the years?

Lorraine: None at all as I am not at all a fan of disposable diapers.

StorkNet: What cloth diaper products have you tried that did not work for you?

Lorraine: None at all.

StorkNet: What are your favorite cloth diapering products?

Lorraine: Snugabye flannelette baby diapers, Dritz diaper pins, regular ordinary pull-on rubber pants, and a 10 gallon cylindrical plastic diaper pail.

StorkNet: What is your funniest cloth diapering memory?

Lorraine: Thinking back on all the diapers I have changed over the years it has to be the time when I was babysitting 6 young children one particular New Year's Eve and 4 of them were in cloth diapers. There was diapers, rubber pants, and safety pins everywhere!

StorkNet: Thanks Lorraine! Anything else you'd care to add?

Lorraine: I hope the resurgence in the use of cloth diapers continues to steadily grow.
