Crafts for Kids

October 2004 Project of the Month
Crowns

This quick project provides hours of entertainment for your little prince or princess. Even a child who is reluctant to color and cut will enjoy making his or her very own crown!

Materials Needed:

  • Cardstock in desired color
  • Paper
  • Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick and tape

Directions:

  1. Draw small circle and diamond shapes on a piece of paper.

  2. Have your child color in the shapes in various colors and then cut them out.

  3. Draw a jagged line evenly across the length of a piece of cardstock. Have child cut on the line.

  4. Help your child paste the colored "jewels" onto his crown.

  5. Overlap the ends of both cut halves of cardstock to fit the head of your child. Glue and hold in place. A piece of tape on the inside of the crown can help stabilize it at this point. Let dry completely before wearing.

  6. Your child can now rule the kingdom of his dreams!
