Jane Squires, RN, IBCLC
Lactation Consultant

Jane SquiresJane Squires, RN, IBCLC received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing from New York University in 1977, took her state boards and became an RN. She worked in labor and delivery for more than 20 years. She is also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth educator. She became interested in breastfeeding after working in hospitals and finding that so many professional people did not know how to help breastfeeding couples. She says, "The couple would have four or five different nurses during their hospital stay, and each would have a different answer for the new mother. I attended every breastfeeding conference I could go to. Eventually I took the International Breastfeeding Examination, and went out on my own." She has been in private practice as a lactation consultant and childbirth educator since l998 and says, "I never tire of it."
