Lisa Stone ACE, a certified fitness instructor, is the founder and president of Fit For 2, an original pre- and post-natal fitness program which she developed. She is the Deputy Director of the Georgia Governor's Commission on Physical Fitness & Sports and is a board member of the National Association of Health & Fitness.
After experiencing the benefits of pre-natal exercise classes while pregnant with her first child, Lisa decided to pursue formal certification instruction in the relatively new field. She makes the point that giving birth is a huge physical event which requires stamina both in labor and during the recovery process. "You wouldn't show up on the day of a marathon without having trained and expect to perform at your peak," she says. "It helps to be physically prepared."
In 1994, Lisa produced the highly acclaimed video, The Fit For 2 Step Aerobic Workout For Pregnancy. She regularly contributes articles for leading publications on the benefits of exercise during pregnancy and during the post-partum period, and makes appearances on a number of local and national television programs.
Lisa received a B.A. in political science from UCLA in 1985. She is a certified fitness instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), with a specialty certification in pre- and post-natal fitness. In 1993, she founded Fit For 2 and currently consults with a number of fitness organizations in the Atlanta region, including Australian Body Works and the Concourse Athletic Club. A former Louisiana tennis champion, Lisa resides in Atlanta with her husband and three children.
