Harder to get into shape after second pregnancy?

Q. Is it harder to get back into shape after your second or more pregnancies?
A. Each pregnancy is so different, and each woman's response to pregnancy is so different, that it would be hard for me to give you an absolute answer here. I, personally, found it harder to lose the pregnancy weight and return to my pre-pregnancy shape with each baby, though I always ended up in better shape after each baby! I know other women who had no trouble with Baby #1 or Baby #4!
The key is to be in shape while trying to conceive, continue eating well and exercising regularly throughout pregnancy, and returning to your exercise program as soon as you feel up to it (and get your healthcare provider's okay) postpartum.
