Ab Wall Separation After 7 Years
By Lisa Stone, ACE

Q. Your website is the only place I have been able to find exercises for the separation of the abdominal wall after pregnancy. Will these exercises still help when it has been seven years since my delivery?

A. You can try doing the exercises for 4-6 weeks and see if you notice any improvement. If not, I would suggest getting a referral to a physical therapist dealing in ob/gyn issues - he or she might be able to offer you some more advanced exercises. As a last resort, plastic surgery can be used to repair the separation, but only as a last resort!
