Screaming Baby Interrupts Workout

Q. My baby is 7 weeks old and I am just starting to exercise. My problem is whenever I get going, I get interrupted by a screaming baby and have to stop. Is it just as good to do 3 mini workouts a day that equal the time as one long workout? I try to do it when I think he'll be asleep or happy for awhile, but it never seems to work.

A. The mini workouts are just as good in terms of health benefits; however, if you're trying to lose weight, you really need to exercise aerobically for 20-30 minutes at a time in order to see results. Have you tried wearing your baby in a sling or front carrier while you work out? The moms in my Fit For 2 classes all swear by that method of exercise! At least, then, your baby will be with you and will, hopefully!, stay calm with all of the movement happening. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.
