for total pregnancy weight gain for teenagers who have a low weight for
their height at the time of conception is between 16 and 18 kilograms.
Weight gain during the first trimester is usually modest but, beginning
in the second trimester, a steady gain of 0.45 kilograms per week is encouraged.
Older teens who have reached full height and are less than 5'2" should
