~ Swelling and Dizziness
Went to the Doctor this week, and we talked about my legs and feet starting to swell. She told me more than likely what was causing it was sitting for such long periods of time and not having real good circulation to my lower half. Told her I had started to have some dizziness as well, and she said that my blood pressure was extremely low. She said in pregnancy, yes the lower they could keep the blood pressure the better, but sometimes it did get too low. She said it could mean I could be anemic which can be fixed with some extra Iron, or I could be having some low blood sugar, which can be fixed also. If it is just due to the increased blood volume due to pregnancy, there isn't much that can be done about that. It should go away once the baby is born.
We talked about putting some restrictions on how long I needed to be working and we tried that, but work told me they could not promise they could work with the new restrictions. So I reported that back to the nurse at my doctor's office. They were recommending I go on light duty, which would put me standing on concrete out in the weather, fueling trucks, breathing fuel fumes for up to 12 hours a day. My doctor and her nurse both said NO. So now, I've got a tiny problem. I was smart and nearly 3 years ago, I took out a short term disability policy. The problem? My disability is short term disability and will only pay me for 6 months. Which is about 26 weeks, which cuts me off right around the time I deliver or shortly after but before I am able to go back to work. I work for a really good company, and while yes we have a few problem people to work around, the family that owns the company and the man that is our company president are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet or know. My doctor said if we found out what was causing the blood pressure to be low and the swelling and dizziness and they can fix it, I can go back to work. But not until then. I have to go today and take care of some matters regarding coming out of work and I will post more about that later.
Hope everyone has a safe, happy and blessed Easter.
