~ Trip to the Hospital

This past week I felt pretty good until Thursday evening. About 8pm I began vomiting. I wound up vomiting and having diarrhea off and on all night long. I didn't sleep a bit the entire night. On top of it all, I began having contractions every 5 minutes or so. I felt incredibly awful. I decided to call the doctor's office once morning arrived. I spoke to a nurse around noon and she told me to go to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital there was a ton of people there. After about 2 hours, they finally called me back.

Because I was very dehydrated, they gave me three bags of IVs and said that it would probably stop my contractions. They also gave me two different types of medicines to stop my nausea. One of the medications they gave me made me incredibly sleepy. I generally do not take medicine to help me sleep because they have a strong effect on me. After about 2 hours on the IVs my contractions still had not stopped, so they gave me two pills that they told me would stop the contractions. In the mean time, my doctor came in to check to see if I had dilated any more. Sadly I hadn't. About 30 minutes after taking the pills, the contractions stopped. We finally made it out of the hospital about 10pm.

When we got home I went straight to bed. I slept until 10:30 am. I made me some lunch and went back to sleep around 12pm and slept until 5pm. I went back to bed around 9pm and slept until 8:30am the next morning. I don't think I have ever slept that much. I do not remember much of Saturday at all. The medicine they gave me really knocked me out. I am still a bit dizzy from the medicine, but am feeling better.

I only have a little over a week until my little bundle of joy arrives. I am a bit more uncomfortable each day, but know that the end is near. I just hope the last few days will be as pleasant as possible.
