Week 29
~ We Have a Name

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all are doing great. I am so excited to tell you all that we have a name for our little princess. We haven't quite figured out the spelling exactly, but we will work on that. Our little girl's name will be Alainnah RayeLynne. It is Irish and is a variation from Alanna that means attractive and peaceful. I love it! I'm not sure about the spelling exactly. I have thought about spelling it Alleynah, or Aleynnah. I don't know for sure. I am just so glad that our litter girl is no longer nameless.

I scheduled my second glucose test for this coming up Wednesday, and I had another ultrasound. My doctor wanted me to get another ultrasound because on the last one he didn't get any pictures of her face. They like to check for things like a cleft palate. However, I guess little miss Alainnah didn't want to show her face because she had it covered with her arm for the first part my appointment. It was funny; she wouldn't move it. The technician tried to go under her arm, but it just wasn't working. When she finally did decide to uncover her beautiful face we saw she has the cutest chubby cheeks and everything looks normal. The chubby cheeks tends to run on my side of the family. I still had a baby face when I went to high school. I didn't lose my cheeks until I was 16. I'm not joking either; my husband thought I looked like I was twelve in my freshman school pictures. As far as the rest of the ultrasound goes, our little girl was absolutely precious. She is measuring bigger than average. They took her measurements and ran all their stuff and said she was about four pounds and one ounce. The technician also said that she measured at about 32 weeks. However, that is within the range of error that is allowed so she said she didn't think my doctor was going to change my due date. I hope not because that would bump my due date to July 20 and my oldest daughter isn't getting back from her missions trip to Dominican Republic until that date. I did have some early ultrasounds that gave my due date though, so I think it will all be fine. The earlier ones are the most accurate.

My glucose test is on Wednesday. I really hope it's negative. I have been trying to be very aware of what I'm eating and making good choices as far as sugar content. Lots of green, a balanced amount of meat, mostly chicken; it hasn't been very hard because I haven't been craving fried or sugary foods for the most part. Although, I have to stay on this carb loaded diet for three days before my next glucose test. I am not too excited about that. They want me to eat more carbs than I'm used to. I am supposed to eat cereal and toast or some kind of bread for breakfast. Usually I eat a Yoplait Yogurt. I like that brand the best. I do like cereal too; I'm just not very hungry when I first wake up in the morning especially since I have been getting bigger. Just not as much room for all that food. Don't get me wrong; I really enjoy food. I just don't crave the foods I normally do when I'm not pregnant.

I went shopping and bought the cutest little outfit for Alainnah. I wanted something that was really pretty for when she came home from the hospital. I went to Babies R Us. They had this adorable little outfit. I fell in love with it. It is all pink, beautiful, and very summery. It wasn't on sale either, but I had to buy it. Usually I try to bargain shop a little better, but this was just one of those times when I had to get it.

Well, that is about it for this week. I hope you all have a fabulous day and I will talk to you soon.

Until next time,
~ Barbara
