Hello All,
As I begin this journal entry I must say that I can't believe I only have two months left until this little one arrives! Time does fly when you're so busy you can't sit down! This pregnancy has been a breeze compared with the others so I think that may have something to do with it.
On another note, my boss informed me on Monday via email that I will no longer have a job with him after November 30. First of all, I was upset because he hasn't had the decency to tell me for months now that he knew exactly what he has going to do when he takes his new position in January. Secondly, the holidays are coming up and with two small children in the house, this couldn't have happened at a worse time. I mentioned all this to him and he just looked at like I was a fool. I know that there are thousands of people out of work but I don't work in a big factory or anything like that. There are only two employees here and of course, they pick on the pregnant girl to leave. I'm just furious. I've cried about it for maybe five minutes and now I'm just plain mad!! I asked about severance pay since it is the holidays and he said pretty calmly that I can just go file unemployment. That's great, no telling how long that will take. I really just think I got a bad deal all the way around. I had been asking about my job status and helping him campaign for months so for all of this to go down like this . . . well I'm pretty much at a loss for words at this point.
Thankfully, I have some contacts here in town at other firms who are helping me find some part time work until I have the baby so hopefully something will pan out there. Also, my husband has a job interview today. I'm praying that he gets it. My secret wish is to be able to just stay home with my babies for a while but I will do whatever I have to at this point. I've always been a working mom so we will see what happens.
I went to the doctor yesterday and all is well with the baby. She weighs four pounds already and I've already put the doctor on notice that he will monitor this one for extreme growth. My last baby weighed nine pounds and was two weeks late so I told him I wasn't going to go through that again. I mean, nine pounds is not that big but the two weeks post due date was awful and he just made me wait and I won't go through that again. He assured me we would monitor the baby closer to time. I will keep you all posted.
In the meantime, I hope things have a swift turn around. We sure do need to catch a break!
