Weeks 15 & 16
~ Two Weeks in One!
I am combining week 15 and 16 in this entry. I have been extremely busy with work. My whole office went out of town all last week for a workshop. It was wonderful because I got to wear civilian clothes, yeah! I went to a maternity shop and picked out the cutest office outfits. I do have to say though that I really enjoy wearing a uniform. I love being able to wake up and not have to think about what to wear, plus it saves a lot of money.
I went for my checkup on Monday. The only fun thing we did was listen to Peanut's heartbeat. It was 146 beats a minute! I was secretly hoping they would do an ultrasound to try and see the sex, so I put on my best face hoping to bribe them. It didn't work. I guess I'm not the only person who has tried to use their charm to get what they want.
I do have a date to find out the sex on March 3rd! I am so happy the radiology department had an opening for that day, because that is when my husband will be back from his deployment. So this is my grand plan. The appointment is at 7am and my husband's flight gets in at 7pm., and keep in mind there will be 20 other Coast Guard aviators with him. I am going to be standing at the terminal in a fabulous dress that I bought just for this occasion, holding a big sign that says it's a boy or it's a girl. I am going to have my friend video tape the whole thing! Does that sound exciting or what? I had to give it to myself for creativity. If you knew me you would understand that I don't have a creative bone in my body. I can't wait to see his face; it makes me giggle just thinking about it.
I figured since I have whined about my pregnancy symptoms in every entry, why stop now. The worst of them all, the morning sickness, has vanished! The only time I get nauseated is when I eat greasy foods, but I was like that before pregnancy. Now all I really deal with is headaches and shortness of breath. I am a runner, so I feel awful when I walk up my stairs and it makes me gasp for air. I am trying to get myself to realize all of this is out of my control, but being the control freak I am, this is no piece of cake.
I only have three weeks until Jamaica, and two weeks until my husband gets home and we find out Peanut's sex, so I have a lot to look forward to. Thank ya'll for joining me in my journey!
