Weeks 18 & 19
~ Two Tough Weeks
Weeks 18 and 19 were tougher than expected. My husband was deployed for the Olympics, and one of their helicopters went down on their way back home. He wasnít directly involved, but he very easily could have been. It sends chills down my spine to even think about it. But, on the other hand, one of our very close friends was injured in the crash, but is on the road to recovery as I type.
I know I told yaíll about my big plan in surprising my husband at the airport, but it obviously didnít happen. I decided I wanted this moment to be private, especially since I knew everyone was in no mood to see me with my big sign. My plan altered to me showing up in jeans and a tee shirt with the picture of the ultrasound showing Peanutís turtle. Yes, itís a BOY! When my husband and his friends were walking off the plane I handed the picture to him and hugged him as hard as I could. Sometimes you forget how lucky you are to have someone you love so much still around with you. I canít count how many times I thanked God that day.
Okay, now letís talk about the good news! We are having a baby boy. I had a gut feeling it was a boy, but I kept second guessing myself. We are excited beyond belief; we wanted a boy so badly. My husband kept saying as long as the babyís healthy I donít care about the sex. Secretly I knew he wanted a son. I canít wait to start buying blue things! We have settled on a name as well, Aidan Cain. I am addicted to the show ďSex and the CityĒ on which there is a character named Aidan. Ever since I have been watching the show I have been in love with that name. I am lucky because my husband really likes it too. We are getting his middle name from my husband whose name is Cain. I think it has a nice ring to it.
We are leaving for Jamaica tomorrow on our much needed baby moon. I canít wait to lie on the beach in my bikini. Yes, I have decided to show off my belly. After all pregnancy is beautiful, isnít it? I know next week I will have a better story to tell unless all hell breaks loose! Wish me luck!
