Week 11
~ Morning Sickness Go Away!

Can someone please tell me why it's called morning sickness? What a crock! Especially when it starts around 3pm and lasts until bedtime. I've even woken up out of a sound sleep to throw up! Argh!! I was thinking the other day exactly how long it has been that I've had morning sickness. It's been six weeks now! That's a long time to feel yucky. When you have the flu or a stomach virus, that lasts, what? A couple of days… I wish that's all morning sickness was, just a couple of days. I've had six whole weeks of feeling horrible! Can you tell I'm getting tired of being tired and not feeling well?

And speaking of being tired, I don't know what I would do without my afternoon nap! Fortunately, I've been blessed with a daughter that naps well! She'll often take a 3 or 4 hour nap in the afternoon, which is just perfect. Naps are a beautiful thing. I've been debating lately whether to wake her from her afternoon nap-a-thon because she's waking up at the crack of dawn. It's funny though, because I'm usually already awake and STARVING! Lol!

I'm so surprised at how large my stomach is already! And my belly button is gigantic! You could lose something in there! I didn't need maternity clothes with Maddie until I was around 17 -18 weeks. Maternity clothes look rather ridiculous on me at the moment, but I can tell you, I have a pot! And not one single pair of regular pants fits. Tops are pretty snug too. I'm not sure how much weight I've gained. I'm guessing it's around 7 lbs. so far. But it looks more like 20! I gained a lot in the first trimester with Maddie too. I'm pretty small framed and short-waisted, so any extra weight in the middle is really noticeable! Tom even mentioned how much bigger I am this time. Nice, eh? I'm sure all the Pop Tarts I've been eating aren't helping!!

It's really true, each pregnancy is really different. Although I feel a lot like I did when I was pregnant with my daughter, which makes me think I may be having another girl, there are definitely some things that are different this time around! Oh my gosh, the Boobie-Fairy definitely did NOT skip my house this pregnancy! She did with my first pregnancy! Lol! I'm wearing nursing bras from my first pregnancy and they are snug. I'm wondering how much larger they are going to get?!

My worst nightmare happened. I broke a tooth! I was eating a prune (you guessed it, constipation!) and I crunched down on something. I spit it out to see what it was and it was a huge hunk of one of my molars! It's bad enough I have this huge phobia of dentists that dates way back to early childhood, but to have to go while pregnant, particularly in the first trimester. I cried! Not so much at the pain from my tooth, but from the whole idea of having to sit there in a chair, with those yucky smells, gagging every five minutes. Fortunately, my anxiety about going was much worse than the actual event itself. The dentist was really gentle and very understanding about my need to keep a trash can on my lap while he had his hands in my mouth trying to put a quick fix on my tooth. He said I could get by until I delivered if I had to with the temporary cap, but it would be better if I could go sometime during my second trimester, if I'm feeling up to it. I just can't wait to go back! Ha!
