Well, our house is full of sickness this week, which also just so happens to be my Spring Break from school. We had thought we might take a trip to visit my mother-in-law in Brookings (about a 6 hour drive from our house), but after starting off the weekend being sick, we decided not to go. Finley had an ear infection and was on amoxicillin for 6 days which wasn't working, so I took her in again and got ear drops. Hopefully it will clear up soon! My sneezing from last week turned into a sinus infection, ick! I've never had a sinus infection before and man, I was miserable. So, I too, am on amoxicillin. I didn't want to take any meds but until the amoxicillin kicked in, I had to get some pain relief so I ended up taking Tylenol. I tried to buy regular strength but I couldn't find it anywhere! Do they even sell it anymore? I ended up with extra strength, which is approved for pregnancy as long as you don't take more than 4000 mg per day (each pill is 500 mg). I still feel a little guilty taking medication while pregnant, but I have to get rid of this infection.
On another health, "feeling icky" note, my back pain has gotten significantly worse! My last week of work before Spring Break, I had tons of paperwork, evaluations, progress notes, and IEPs to write and ended up sitting for most of the day. I definitely strained my lower back and I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I go back to work next week. I really don't think I can sit in that desk chair anymore. Any advice?
On Monday, I celebrated my 31st birthday! We went out to dinner with my family and I spent the day trying to feel better. It was an enjoyable, relaxing day none-the-less. After a few days, I definitely started feeling better and have been able to hang out with friends and get outside. Finley, Nola, and I hiked the Lacamas Creek trail not far from our house. I'd never done it before and it definitely was a workout and a great place to hike!
On an exciting note, I think I felt that baby move! It felt like a quick little flutter low down in my stomach. Definitely a familiar feeling from when I was pregnant with Finley. I also feel like my belly has actually started to pop out, although I'm still wearing my regular clothes. I can tell it will be time to pull out my maternity clothes soon though.
See you next week!
