Birth Story
~ The Twins Are Here!

Caylee and CaydenHello everyone!!!! I am happy to report that Caylee Jane and Cayden Jace were born into this world on July 9, 2008.

The delivery was amazing. I could not have asked for anything better. My water broke that morning around 4:30 a.m. and the babies came shortly after that! I can't believe I carried the babies' almost full term - especially since I started having contractions at week 26.

We had to deliver in the operating room in case there would have been any complications but Caylee Jane was born first at 3:15 p.m. and Cayden Jace followed twenty-seven minutes later at 3:42 p.m. Both babies were born naturally - no c-section, no complications! We only had to spend two days in the hospital before we came home! Our family is so thankful!

Tyler and twinsCaylee Jane weighed in at 7 lbs, 19 1/2 inches long while her brother Cayden Jace weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long. I was so glad to have big, healthy babies. Who would have thought that I would deliver two babies - both the average size of delivering one baby? It's simply amazing to us! It's so crazy to think how two babies grew in my belly! Our family is truly blessed.

Things have been going well. They just turned four weeks old yesterday. They are getting bigger already! The babies eat about every three hours. I am hoping by the time I go back to work at the end of the month, I will only be getting up once a night. We have been adjusting. The babies are only unhappy when they're hungry!

Big brother Tyler is extremely happy and has been such a great helper. He loves helping take care of his new siblings. He is very proud! I am so glad it's summer break and Tyler is home to help me during the day since dad is at work. It makes life that much easier!

Tyler and TwinsI think Cayden resembles Tyler so much when he was a baby. I think Caylee Jane looks like her daddy. But they look totally different. If they were apart, you wouldn't know they were twins unless someone told you. I am sure they are going to change so much over the next years. It's going to be exciting!

I just wanted to thank everyone for following my family's twin story. Thanks to those who sent emails in support. And to those expecting - pregnancy can be difficult at times but in the end it is worth all the aches and pains during pregnancy. A baby is such a wonderful gift. My husband and I are truly blessed to have three wonderful children. Our family is complete. We went from a family of three to a family of five in just a few minutes. Life is amazing. We couldn't be happier.

Sincerely,
~ Carrie
