Week 16 ~ February 6, 2008
~ Everything is Going Good!

I had my 16 week check up yesterday and everything went very well. The babies are moving and grooving. One of the heartbeat rates was at 156 while the other heartbeat rate was 157. The depressing part is - I ended up gaining 12 pounds over the past four weeks. Oh well - I have two babies inside of me plus everything tastes so good! I have a great appetite!

I did find out yesterday I will be getting my 3-D ultrasound on February 26th - how exciting! If the babies cooperate, we should be able to tell the gender of them. I have to know. I need to know so I can start picking out baby names as well as start purchasing the items we are going to need. I am excited to get the 3-D ultrasound. With my first pregnancy this wasn't an option. It's crazy how far technology has come over the past seven years. The technician is also going to video tape the ultrasound for us. That will be nice to have.

I also found out yesterday - since a twin pregnancy is considered high risk - from this point forward I will be getting an ultrasound once a month so they can keep track of what position the babies are in, etc. Then once I reach 28 weeks of my pregnancy I have to go to the hospital once a week for stress tests to make sure I am not going into preterm labor and just to monitor the babies and make sure everything is going well. With all the doctor appointments I am going to have, I have a feeling my pregnancy is going to fly by!

I have my good days where I am full of energy and get so much accomplished at work and at home while some days I feel as if I don't want to get out of bed because I am so tired and exhausted. I am just glad I have a loving and understanding husband who helps me out on those days I don't feel like doing much of anything.

Other than that - nothing much has changed. Other than the fact that my stomach gets bigger each day and most of my clothes are not fitting. I am just thankful I have lots of friends who just gave birth and are no longer in need of their maternity clothing so I am able to borrow theirs without having to go purchase a bunch of new clothes I would only where for 4 or 5 months.

That is about it for this week. I will send another update next week.
