Good news everyone! My doctor's appointment and check up yesterday went very well. The babies are doing great and are very healthy and are right on schedule.
The ultrasound was very cool - we were able to see every organ of both babies along with blood flow, etc. It's very reassuring that things are going great once you have reached this milestone in the pregnancy. It makes you feel so much better. We received a video tape of the ultrasound along with some great pictures. That's nice to have so I am able to share it with the rest of my family and friends. I also found out all of my blood work came back and everything looks great!
So you're all probably wanting to know if we were able to find out the sex of the babies………..drum roll please………..I am pleased to inform all of you that Baby A is a little boy and Baby B is a little girl.
My sister Teri and my mom bought a couple of girl outfits prior to my ultrasound. I think they wanted a little girl. I am glad I actually get to use them. They are so cute. I just can't wait to go shopping for more!
Now - we can start deciding on baby names, start getting baby stuff and start putting the nursery together. My mom, her husband Jim and my sister Heidi purchased us a Crib, Changing Table and Dresser last weekend so now we have to get that put together. I am excited. I want to get everything all in order. I am going to borrow the other crib from my friend Lindsay. It's so nice to know I have great family and friends to help support us throughout this pregnancy. I don't know what we would do without all of them helping us.
My next appointment is March 28th. I will have my regular check-up as well as another ultrasound. I am going to get an ultrasound every month now just to make sure the babies are growing and doing well. That's something nice to look forward too - we get to see my babies once a month!
I only gained 5 pounds since my last appointment which was three weeks ago. I have been trying to eat healthy and drink plenty of water and milk. I think I have been doing well.
I still get tired every once and a while but my doctor says that's normal and I should get as much rest as I can! I am thankful my family allows me the time to myself for relaxation - it makes things a whole lot easier.
Well that's about all I have for this week. I just wanted to fill everyone in on the good news. Check back next week for another update.
