~ It's a . . .

GIRL! Can you believe it?? I sure couldn't!! We indeed are having a baby girl. The ultrasound went pretty well; she measures out to be a perfect 1 pound, which is right on target for her age. The doctor had a hard time seeing everything because of her position; she was curled up and facing my tailbone, so we had to do a lot of manipulating, but eventually he was able to say that he was about 99% sure it was a baby girl in there. I was surprised, but very happy. My husband was happy, because he had said we were having a girl all along. My mom went to the ultrasound too and she was very excited.

I'm really looking forward to having a daughter since I already have the perfect little son. I had a great time looking at all the cute girl stuff this weekend. I bought a couple must haves that I couldn't pass up and some of my girlfriends already brought me cute new pink outfits, so it's been a lot of fun. We told all of Tim's family by bringing over a big chocolate cake that was decorated with pink roses and ribbons and it said "It's a Girl!" We got some "It's a Girl" balloons for the nieces and nephew and everyone had a great time finding out.

We've decided that she'll be named Natalie Nicole, and I doubt we'll change it; we've had the name picked out forever. Natalie is just a name we both like, well I love it. And Nicole is my cousin's middle name, and my niece's middle name, so we like that it is somewhat a family name.

I've got a lot of sprucing up of the nursery to do. It's just decorated in yellows and greens right now, so I'm going to add some pink details to make it more feminine. I feel so much better now that I know what we're having; I can put my energy into really preparing for her arrival now. I can't wait to meet her and see what she'll look like!
