Week 26 ~ April 18, 2007
~ Feeling Good
This was a good week, the flu has FINALLY left our house, my husband ended up getting it after me and Ryan had recovered; he was sick in bed for 2 days, pretty miserable! But now we're back to normal.
I had an OB appointment and everything looked good. The ultrasound showed she was indeed still a girl . . . hooray! And she was super cute; we got a great picture of her face, and she really looks like her brother! I know that sounds weird, but there is definitely a resemblance; the same nose I think! I've gained a total of 12 pounds, so I think that's pretty good. I think I had gained quite a bit more with Ryan by this point. The heart beat and her size was perfect. I go back in 2 weeks for my 1 hour glucose test, blood work, and Rhogam shot (I'm RH negative so I have to have a shot at 28 weeks and after delivery so my body doesn't build up antibodies against the baby). It'll be nice to get those tests done and hopefully everything will turn out okay so I can be reassured we're both healthy. I'm not really feeling too exhausted or worn out; my feet have been feeling much better, and my body hasn't been quite as achy. I was having a hard time sleeping but I bought some new, bigger bed pillows and that seems to be helping a lot. I have the chronic pregnancy stuffy nose so I think being elevated more at night is helping.
Work is getting busier right now, but so far it hasn't become a problem. I've had to switch some of my days off to accommodate a bigger patient load, but so far it's working out. Today I'm home with Ryan and Tim; he got a day off due to traveling over the weekend, so we're having a great time staying inside while it's raining. We've been watching movies and cuddling . . . doesn't get much better than that!
We did plan a vacation for the first weekend in May. I'll be right at the cut off of when I can travel, but my doctor said it would be fine as long as I wasn't having any issues with cramping or spotting before I left. We're going to spend about 5 days in San Diego. Tim is going for work, but we'll have at least 2 days where we can do Sea World and the San Diego Zoo together. I've never been there, so I'm excited! While Tim is working I'm hoping me and Ryan can get some good pool time in. I went and got a maternity swim suit this weekend. Note to self, don't try on maternity swim suits if you want a mood lifter, that's for sure! I swear pregnancy makes you retain water or something in areas you never have! I actually found a pretty cute suit, after realizing that my body is changing and I'm just going to have to accept it.
We got one more piece of good news this week; my husband's employer officially offered him a permanent position here in Boise, so we won't be moving, and he won't have to be out of work, big hooray! Unfortunately the job didn't come with a big raise or anything, but maybe next time! He will probably be working from home periodically, which will definitely help with a new baby. So all in all, we're happy campers this week.
