Week 29 ~ May 9, 2007
~ Just what the doctor ordered
Well we are back from our trip to San Diego and we had a wonderful time. A vacation is exactly what I needed! It was so nice to just relax, the weather was warm and sunny pretty much the whole weekend. We were able to get out and use the pool, Ryan loved swimming. And the water felt great on my pregnant body, it was so nice to be weightless for a brief time. Now that I'm back to work, my back is killing me and I'm dying to get back in a pool! We have a neighborhood swimming pool but it doesn't open till Memorial Day so I'll have to hold out for a couple more weeks.
We had a great time at Sea World and at the zoo, but it was A LOT of walking; my feet were so sore by the end of the day. My legs are still feeling the effects now that we're home. I must have been a little out of shape; I'm going to try and be better about exercising during these last two months now that I've obviously broken my body back into some physical exercise. I was much better about walking/exercising when I was pregnant with Ryan. Now, I spend so much energy chasing Ryan around, or trying to keep up with him, that I feel like that's more than a workout. Plus, on the weekends the cleaning or yard work I do around the house always wears me out too, so I feel like I'm active, just in a different way.
Anyway, it was great to get away. It was kind of nice knowing that once we got home from our trip that it would really be the last big thing we do before our little girl arrives. We may do a weekend trip here or there, but for the most part we'll be staying home and preparing for our baby. I'd hate to get too far away in case something started happening early. When we were walking through the zoo over the weekend, I was getting super tired, we were trekking up a big hill in the sun and I started getting some nasty cramps. I immediately slowed it down and they went away, but it was a reminder that I needed to take it easy. It would have been awful to be away from home and to go into premature labor!
The little one is still very active. Last night I laid in bed and just watched my belly do crazy flips and bumps. It's the weirdest feeling in the world, my belly seems so tight, I don't know how much more this girl can grow. She seems so much more active than Ryan was. I always noticed little kicks, but never these big movements, it's honestly like she's doing back flips!
That's about it for my week, I enclosed a couple pics of our weekend!
