~ Taking It Easy
This week I had another OB appointment. The baby is head down, so that's good news even though the doctor did say it was early enough for her to still flip the other direction. She measured right at 33 weeks so she's still growing appropriately from what we can tell. Of course the day after my appointment I woke up with some pretty painful low cramps, mostly like menstrual cramps. I tried resting and taking it easy, drinking lots of water, and they did go away, but it made me a little nervous. From what I've read in the books it's pretty normal, but I never like to feel pain or wonder if the baby is okay. I'll be sure to bring it up at my next appointment but so far they haven't returned. I had a couple nights of pretty poor sleep, I definitely have to use more pillows just to get comfortable. And my low back pain and rib pain has returned. It feels like my ribs are stretching, not sure if that really happens in pregnancy or not, but that's what it feels like, and it's very uncomfortable!
We have some busy weeks ahead so I'm trying to get prepared for that. This coming weekend we have two family birthday parties and then the following week my husband's family is coming into town to celebrate his dad's 70th birthday so we basically have an entire week of activities planned. I've also been busy at work trying to get everything prepared for while I'm on leave. I have this very unsettling feeling about this little girl making her arrival early. It's probably just because Ryan was almost two weeks early so it really took us by surprise, but I like being prepared (kind of a control freak!) so I just want to plan on her coming early so it's not as much work if it does happen that way. I'll probably get everything ready for her arrival and she'll end up being two weeks late!
I went nursing bra shopping this weekend and it was a complete nightmare, I officially hate nursing bras! I hated the ones I had with Ryan because they were too bulky and just uncomfortable so I threw them out and was on a search for ones I really liked and would feel good to have on. I think I went to about 5 or 6 different stores and was unimpressed with all of them! They are either hideously ugly or so uncomfortable and give you no support. I finally found some decent ones at Motherhood Maternity, they actually had a really good selection, but of course when you want your size in a certain style they don't always have it. I ended up getting 2 maternity/nursing bras and one camisole with a built in nursing bra. Hopefully they'll work out better than the ones I had last time. And at least it is one more thing I can check off my list in getting ready for baby.
