~ A Relaxing Weekend
This week was overall a pretty good week. I had a pretty easy week at work and then this weekend was my niece's fifth birthday. I picked her up on Friday and took her and Ryan to Chuck E. Cheese's for lunch. They both had a great time. Ryan especially loved getting to play on all the play cars and going down the slides. We then went to my niece's party that night at a big playground/park. The kids had a great time running around and playing. Ryan slept very well that night after all the activity. On Saturday I met my mom for her birthday lunch and then treated her to a facial at our favorite day spa. I got a prenatal massage Tim had gotten me a gift certificate there for Mother's Day. The massage was wonderful, I wish I could get one every week! The masseuse spent so much time working on my back, it was definitely overdue. My neck and shoulders were really tight too. We then barbequed that night because the weather was beautiful. Then Sunday morning we woke up to a pouring rainstorm. We don't get much rain in our neck of the woods, so we were a little surprised that it stuck around all day. We decided to clean our carpets since we were stuck indoors so we deep cleaned those and then headed out to the mall so they could dry for a few hours. We did a little Father's Day shopping and went to lunch and then called it a day. It was actually one of the most relaxing weekend's I've had in a long time.
We have a very busy week this coming week, we have lots of family coming into town for my father-in-law's birthday, plus I have a friend's bridal shower, and Father's Day on Sunday. So I doubt I'll get a whole lot of rest, I'm hoping my back will put up with all the activity. It has definitely been sore, and my rib pain is still bothering me. I also haven't been sleeping too great. I tend to wake up around 4 or 5am and I really can't go back to sleep. But then I'm tired again by 9 or 10am, and of course by that time of the morning sleep is pretty much out of the question with a toddler running around full speed. I realize that there could be much worse things in life than missing a little sleep so I try to just get over it and realize this is part of being a mom. I go to the doctor again this week, and he'll check my cervix so I should find out if anything is happening yet. I assume nothing is, since it's early, but it'll be nice to have some reassurance. I feel like she is definitely still in the head down position, but I don't think she's "dropped" yet. Hopefully I'll have all the answers by the end of the week. I can't believe I'm just about a month away from the due date, yikes!
