Twelve weeks down and baby is doing great. I officially made it to the end of the first trimester. I feel like I can breathe a little bit easier now. I had my OB check up this week and everything looked great. It was a really quick appointment but the baby's heart beat sounded wonderful. I am always anxious at those first few appointments when you have to wait while the doctor tries to find the heart beat. I've had so many close friends and family experience miscarriages that it just seems too real to be able to lose your baby in those early weeks.
I also was down close to 2 lbs when the doctor weighed me. Hopefully I won't be losing anymore and only gaining from this point forward; it definitely feels like my appetite has increased. I'm starting to have a harder time finding clothes that fit each morning. Pretty much all my pants are too small, I have to use the rubberband trick on all the buttons and it's harder to find shirts that emphasize a small baby bump rather than make me look either as big as a house or like I have a beer belly. I always hated this part of the pregnancy when your normal clothes are too small but your maternity clothes are way too big . . . oh well, it too shall pass.
Other than my doctor's appointment it was a pretty quiet, uneventful week, which was nice. Next week we are gearing up for Thanksgiving and I'm really looking forward to some time off work and spending time with our families. I went ahead and included my first belly pic, 12 weeks and growing nicely!
