~ Lyla Kate
So we have officially decided on baby girl's name, Lyla Kate. We'd toyed around with a few contenders, but had decided on Lyla a while back. The middle name took us a bit longer but I'm very happy with our decision. Ryan wanted "Lily" for the first name, but I have a good friend with a Lily and it's a bit too popular for me. Lyla was a name I had heard a few years ago and had kept it tucked away in my mind in case I ever had another girl. Kate is somewhat of a family name, and a name that I've loved forever. Ryan ok'd Kate since he has a preschool friend named Kate and he informed us that he will only call her Kate, not Lyla. We told him that was fine, but we'll see if it sticks!
We also finished up Lyla's room so now she has a beautiful nursery to come home to. I am really happy with how it turned out. Tim worked really hard on painting the room and putting up the chair rail and I think it looks beautiful. I find myself just going in there and looking around because it has such a peaceful, clean feeling. I've even started washing her clothes and stocking up her dresser. It's so fun seeing all the cute little onesies, hats, and booties she'll get to wear. I want to treasure that newborn phase so much since this will be my last newborn. It's nice to have the house a little more under control now that we have the kids' bedrooms finished up. I still have a long list of things I want to get done though before baby arrives. I think it's mostly a nesting instinct but I want to clean out every closet and make sure everything is very organized. I'm also eager to get all my photo books and scrapbooks up to date so I can focus on the baby's books once she gets here.
My pregnancy is still going smoothly other than a lot of annoying back pain pretty much daily. Sitting at work by the end of the day is getting really frustrating. I'm going to ask my doctor about it next week at my OB appointment but I pretty much assume there's not a whole lot I can do about it. I don't feel quite as crazy hungry as I had been so I'm thinking things are starting to level off a bit in the weight gain department. I get my 1 hour glucose test next week so I'm anxious to see those results. My previous two pregnancies showed that I was anemic at this point of the pregnancy so we'll see if we are 3 for 3 in that department as well. Some days I'm sure that I am because I am just beyond exhausted in the evening, but who knows, I'm a pregnant working mom with two kids at home, who wouldn't be exhausted every night??
