Week 12
~ Doctor's Appointment

I'm beginning to feel the energy of the second trimester. The nausea has started to lessen to only when Iím hungry and need more fuel (which seems to be every couple of hours). Once I eat a little something the sickness disappears until the next time I need something to eat. Itís as if the baby is saying "Hey mom I need a snack!"

This week I had my dreaded doctor's appointment. I had to be at work by 2:00 so I scheduled the earliest appointment available at 11:00. They were extremely unorganized. I sat and sat and finally at 1:15 I was called to the back. I had to wait another 30 minutes before the midwife came to see me. Meanwhile, I hear her on the phone in the hallway saying she needed to keep better records of the patients she sees because they weren't paying her the correct salary and if they continued she was going to quit. Great! (canít help but be sarcastic)

Finally, she came in and explained how I really needed to stick with their office and hospital throughout the pregnancy. Yeah. Okay. Yet, she went on to brag about the hospital were I delivered Psalm (the same place I work) and how great it is. So, I'm thinking this really gives me confidence that I should deliver my baby here. The overall appointment was crappy to say the least and I actually had to tell her "Hey I'm twelve weeks; arenít you going to look for the heartbeat!" After little effort she said she couldnít find it, but that didnít mean the baby wasnít there. The long and short is I could've given myself a better examine/visit. I'm more than excited now that I found another doctor who I know will be ten-thousand times better and I can actually feel safe.

Other than that, the week has been good. We're getting ready for the Super Bowl. Itís extremely exciting this year because we made it (GO BEARS!!!!!).

Happy Super Bowl!

Until next week,
Chris
