We went camping / kayaking this week for my husband's birthday. I am definitely not a camper, so once a year I make an effort for his birthday. We go to the same place every year. We really enjoy it; it is a quiet reservoir that doesn't allow high powered boats on it so it stays fairly quiet and the weather is always so great.
It is nice to get out of the 100+ degree heat for a couple days. We took one of our 4 dogs with us. She loves going camping too, although she isn't always the best behaved. She isn't a barker, but she isn't friendly towards other dogs she doesn't know. We never allow her off her leash or away from camp, but there are always others that let their dogs run off a leash so we constantly have to keep an eye on her.
We met with the specialists today and they did another ultrasound before we talked to the Dietician. They said so far everything looks okay but the intestines are still showing in the umbilical cord. They say this is normal at 10 weeks but it shouldn't be present at 12 weeks when we do the Nuchal Translucency Scan. The doctor said if it is still present then we may have a problem. I know me, and I will worry like crazy for the next couple weeks; I kind of wish he wouldn't have mentioned it if it's considered normal.
The meeting with the Diabetic nurse went well. She said my last Hemoglobin A1C that my OB did at 5 weeks was 5.1 so we all are pretty happy about that. They will be doing another in a month or two just to make sure I'm still on track. She mentioned that she got a little spoiled with me during my last pregnancy because I am so organized with charting my food and numbers and they are well laid out and easy to read on a spreadsheet; she usually doesn't receive such organized lists from everyone so that made me smile. She is also having me complete a 24-hour urine to check my protein levels since I had high blood pressure in my last pregnancy. I remember these well; I had to do 5 of them the last pregnancy which all came back okay so I think this one will too.
