Week 27 ~ March 6, 2008
~ Family Vacation
The time is quickly approaching for our family vacation down to San Diego and back up into San Francisco for several days. My husband is really looking forward to getting away and just being with our kids and visiting with family/friends that live in Southern California.
So, here I am preparing lists of what we are packing and I start to think to myself, "Oh my gosh, what am I going to do with all of Mychaela's things?" I have a tub in our room that has a memory box, her blanket that the hospital gave us, pictures, castings, etc. the only physical things I have to serve as a visual reminder of her. After much debating, I've decided to take her photo album with us and to ask my neighbor to watch the urn. Sounds creepy, huh? But you never know and I just want to be on the safe side.
This week has been a relatively good week, lots of kicking on William's part . . . ah; I need to fill you in. My husband's middle name is William (hence we call him Bill), and while we were laying in bed he turned to me and said, "You know Sweetie, I've been thinking it would be nice to call our son William and then you can just call him Liam if you want."
Now, I had an initial reaction which I showed much self-control in not letting out. I wanted to say, "I've been calling this baby, Liam since we found out he was a boy! Kathryn already knows him as Baby Liam." I suppose as we carry the baby the bonding is more intense and the times where I would just lay there watching him kick me and talking with him the name Liam was natural to me.
Like I said, I held that in and told Bill to let me think about it. The next day I woke up, made Bill breakfast as he prepared to go slay dragons for our family and knew that calling our son William would be the least I could do to show my love for my husband; plus he said I could nickname the baby Liam! All of this to say, the baby's new name is William Michael.
Another NST tomorrow morning, vacation next week (I'll do my best to write before we leave), and finding it hard to believe that we are in the month of March!
I hope this finds you all well and know that I appreciate those of you who have taken the time to read this.
