The Crazy Days of Summer!
Well, I suppose it is a little embarrassing to admit, but I have not been doing well with the summer reading program that we started with the kids. It was only supposed to be a minimum of 30 minutes per day. Even though we read to the kids almost every night before bed, it is more like 15 to 20 minutes, and since we have been so busy this summer, we haven't read much during the daytime. So much for the free books. Ha, ha!
Titus is definitely on the move, and there is nothing that can stop him now. I guess it's time to start keeping little toys off of the floor again since nothing is safe anymore. He really is getting pretty quick. He also got in one of his front teeth on the top a few days ago. It looks like he is still working on three others right now too. It was a big week for the boy!
I really hate days that end with me yelling WAY too much. If anyone has any tips on how to not loose your cool, I would be open to any and all suggestions here. For the most part, I think I do okay, but once in a while I just have days where I find it really hard to not raise my voice. It seems to be more common when they are both fighting with each other and won't leave each other alone. I really don't want them to grow up and have this be one of the key points that they remember about me.
Isabelle and Michael had their cousins (my sister's kids) over to spend the night. It had been a really long time since we have had them over. They are a little bit older than our kids, but all of them had so much fun playing together! It definitely makes me regret that I have not had them over more often in the past. Oh well, I guess I will just have to do better in the future. We feel very blessed that we have so much of our family close by.
We were able to spend another day in the mountains a couple of weekends ago. Yay! I love being away from everything, especially when it's so hot. The area was also very beautiful, so that always helps too! This time, we went for a family reunion on my dad's side. It was nice to see all of the family, and my sister from California was also able to make it too. We had a good time visiting.
My parents took up their dirt bikes too. I LOVE to ride motorcycles. It's really unfortunate that we do not own some ourselves, but it was still nice to be able to take the kids on a ride. . As always, Isabelle and Michael had a really good time playing in the dirt. It was good for them to get to play with their cousins too!
Well, it's almost 'fair' time. We really like taking the kids to the state fair. They really like it too. It's fun to take them to the petting zoo and let the see all of the animals. Only a couple of more weeks to go!
Here are a few pictures from our day in the mountains! One is with Isabelle and I riding the motorcycle, the other is of Michael going on a hike with the group and holding my dad's hand, and lastly is Titus and Jeremy together. Hope you have a great week!
Until next time . . .
