Week 17
~ Maternity Clothes

This last week I finally broke down and went shopping for more maternity pants. The ones I have do not fit as well as I would like. I am fairly tall, 5' 10", and wear 34" inseam in my pants. It can be quite challenging at times to find pants that fit well and do not cost me an arm and a leg. As a result, I really hate clothes shopping, particularly when I am pregnant. Luckily, with it being summertime, I can buy capris and not have to worry about the length. With Isabelle and Michael, I had found some online that worked okay but I was not overly happy with. They did not want to stay up very well, so I was constantly tugging at them. Very annoying. So, I ended up going to Motherhood Maternity where I have purchased dresses and tops before, but never pants. All I can say is WOW! I had no idea they could be that much better, and they even have tall sizes. I found some capris that have what they call the 'Secret Fit Belly' on them that you can roll up or down. It is amazing. I had no clue that maternity clothes could actually be somewhat comfortable. One thing I was looking for while I was in there was the 'tummy sleeve.' I had heard about it a while back and thought it might be worth the try. I'm sure that most of you have already heard of this sleeve, but for those who are less fortunate like me , it is a band of elastic material, approximately 12" in height, that goes around your belly on top of your pre-pregnancy pants so you can leave yours unbuttoned and wear them longer. It also can go on top of any other pregnancy pants that don't quite fit right to help smooth them out and keep them up. It really is very amazing. It cost $17.00 and is well worth the investment in my opinion.

Well, I am also happy to report that we appear to be on the tail end of our colds. I really expected it to last a bit longer for me, but looks like that will not be the case. Yay! Most importantly, the kids are pretty much over it too. One has to wonder how much snot can come out of a small child's nose. It's unfortunate we do not own stock in the Kleenex company.

There has not been a lot happening with our new little one. Our next doctor's visit is tomorrow. I'm hoping to get my mom to go along with me as it can be a little challenging to give a urine sample and try to keep two little ones (mostly Michael) from tearing apart the bathroom at the same time. I know we could do it if we had to, but since there is help available, we will gladly accept it. She has not had the chance yet this time to hear the heartbeat either, so that will be nice. My mother-in-law graciously went with me last time. We are so blessed to have both of our families live so close and greatly appreciate their help.

I hope you have a wonderful week! Until next time . . .
