~ Another Doctor's Visit
Our trip to the doctor's office this week was fairly uneventful. I decided to go ahead and try to take Isabelle and Michael with me, without help to watch them, and see just how crazy it was going to be. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how well it went. For the urine test, I think they were just fascinated to see what I was doing and did not try to mess with too many of the other things in the bathroom. They were pretty funny! When it came time to check my vitals and listen to the heartbeat, I just put Michael in a chair in the corner of the room and let Isabelle stand beside him and feed him a bag of grapes we had brought with us. Luckily Michael loves grapes and had no problem with this. And, since Isabelle loves to take control and be "the boss," this also worked well.
Our little one is also doing quite well and the heart rate was 140-150 bpm again. I did get my yummy drink for next time and they will be doing the glucose test at my visit next month. It will be nice to get that over with and make sure that there are no problems there. I have had a better week with fewer episodes of being weak though. They are not completely gone, but I can tell it is getting better.
This last week, I have been amazed at how many comments I have received in regards to how big I am compared to how far I have left to go. Several people have asked, "When are you due?" and when I tell them their response is either, "Wow!" or "Really?" Or better yet, I really love, "Are you sure you're not having twins?" I must admit, I am really getting tired of these comments. Just what every woman needs to hear when she is pregnant is just how HUGE she is. It really makes a person's day. I know that I am not super skinny when I am pregnant. I also know that I tend to carry more of the weight out front, although there is plenty of weight left to distribute between my rear and thighs. My doctor said I am measuring just fine too, so I know that if I were having twins it would have been evident by now, and do people honestly think I would not have said something? Okay . . . I will stop ranting and move on.
We have still been working on getting things together to move over to my parents' house. It has been a little slow going I am afraid though, and it does not look like we will be moving quite as quickly as we had planned. The majority of that is because it is canning season right now, and when things are ready to be canned from the garden, it waits for no one I'm afraid. It is a lot of work, but come winter we are very glad we spent the time on it. My parents always plant a big garden, and this year it was even bigger since we wanted to go in on it with them too. So, who knows exactly when we will make the big move. We shall wait and see.
I hope you have a wonderful week. Until next time . . .
