~ Moving Forward . . . Finally!
Well, it appears we finally have some answers. I did have my doctor appointment this past week and even though my doctor was willing to go the homebirth route for us, she was unable to work out some of the other details. So, as a result, we either have to go with the birthing center room at the hospital, or we would have to change to a midwife right now. With only about six weeks left in the game, I think it seems a little crazy to go with a midwife at this point. Since I was already leaning towards the hospital for other reasons, it seems that the most logical option for us right now is the hospital and we will be going that route.
On the one hand, I feel a little disappointed in not trying out a homebirth and not being able to stay home for the birth, but with all of the other madness in our lives right now, I think we will be ok with the hospital. If it wasn't for my doctor being so awesome, I would not even consider it. We have been very happy with her and she does everything she can to try and work with us. We are also supposed to be getting one of the birthing center nurses too, so that will be really nice.
The rest of my appointment went very smoothly. Baby's heart rate was 145 bpm up to 152 bpm. My blood pressure was a tiny bit high, but not bad. I didn't even take the kids with me this time, so not sure why it was elevated at all. I suppose it could have been the trauma that comes every time I see my weight. Let's just say I have gained the most with this baby than any of the other three, and I'm not done yet. Blah! I have one more appointment two weeks away, and then I will be going down to weekly visits. It is insane how fast it's going right now. Probably in a couple of weeks when I have more things ready, I will be thinking time is crawling by.
Also at my next appointment, my doctor is supposed to check me for any progress. I'm pretty sure it doesn't seem to matter though. I do really like to know how things are going and that the Braxton Hicks contractions are actually doing something, since I have them very frequently. However, I always start dilating several weeks before time, so it appears to not mean a whole lot. Still, I am always curious.
Here are a few pictures of the kiddos. It's definitely starting to feel more like winter here. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and eat lots of yummy food. That's my plan! Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you have a wonderful week!
