It has been a busy couple of weeks, but I am happy to report we have a functioning vehicle again. A month and a half without one seemed more like a year and a half. We are definitely grateful for family who has stepped in to help us during this time, but as much as I hate borrowing one, it is just awesome to have our own again. We sold the vehicle we had, and ended up working on a suburban of ours that we had given to my parents a little over a year ago to use as a parts vehicle if they wanted to, since they had a suburban of the same year that was having some trouble too. We figured they could just use parts to make one functional car. They ended up not doing that, and offered it to us to work on. So my wonderful husband, who does NOT love to work on cars, just got in there and fixed ours so we can use it again. Let me just say there was a little bit of the happy dance going on here. We feel very blessed!
I am so anxious for summer to be here. Not just because of a little baby I am ready to meet, but I am so ready for it to be warm enough to at least go outside more. The kids bounce off the walls when we are cooped up for so long, which is not good for anyone. Here in the Boise area, we get this dumb inversion stuff that goes on most of the winter where we go many days without seeing the sun. It would not be too terrible to bundle the kids up and send them outside when it gets up to 30 degrees, if the sun was out. When it is not, it is just cold and everything looks cold too with the trees frosted over, pretty, but cold. So, I say time to bring on the heat. !
I know that I have mentioned how excited that I am to have a baby in the summer and to not have to deal with the frigid temperatures. I also know there will be some downsides to it. When I was pregnant with Titus, I know I was only around five or six months along in the summer, but the heat did not bother me at all. I was just about as far along in the summer when I was pregnant with Levi too, and I really would not have minded it much cooler. Also, my feet would always feel like they were on fire when I was laying in bed at night. What is up with that? So I am not really sure what to expect this time. !
In the beginning of July to mid-July is when we usually see the 100 degree plus days here. It should be interesting. I also know that nursing in the summer months is awesome too. As if it is not hot enough yet, so let's just throw on a blanket to help. Thankfully I do have a couple of nursing covers that are made of a lighter material, so that should help. I know there will be some challenges here and there, but I am still really looking forward to it. !
It has been another week of feeling really good here. At night before bed I do notice if I do not eat something somewhat substantial, I will wake up in the morning with my blood sugar a little lower than I like. I am sure this will really help in the weight gaining department. I have been a little more tired lately too, but that may be more due to the hour I actually get in bed. I try, I really do, to make it there by 10:00 to 10:30, but despite my efforts, it is usually more like 11:00 to 11:30. I know part of it is because I feel the need to unwind a little more after the kids are in bed, and I think if we were in our own house it would work out a little better. Who really knows, though. Only one more week until we get to hear that precious heartbeat again. We are looking forward to it! !
