As the title does indicate, this week brought with it some of the awesome Braxton Hicks. They are not really strong yet, but I can definitely feel them. I notice them the most when I am sitting in the car or at the computer. It is still just a few here and there, but I am sure if this goes like the rest of the pregnancies, they will get much stronger before we get to the end. I am always amazed at just how intense they are and how tight my belly gets with each one.
To add to the symptoms this week, I have been starting to have some mild leg aches here and there. As a result, I have also been upping my calcium intake to make sure it does not get worse. When I was pregnant with Levi, that was the first time that I experienced the actual leg cramping in the night, which was less than pleasant. I am hoping that I can keep it from getting that bad this time. I am also still having a little discomfort along my ribs, which is worse when I am sitting. It definitely helps with keeping up good posture though with trying to stretch it all out.
My sister-in-law is due about two weeks ahead of me with her second baby. It is fun to go through the pregnancies at the same time, and nice to be able to share and compare stories or concerns of things that are going on. Her first baby was about a week overdue, and all of our babies have been early, so it will be fun to see just how close they end up being.
We had two days of gorgeous weather this week with it being up in the 60s. Apparently it was just a teaser, because it very quickly went back to unpleasant rain accompanied by wind. The forecast shows rain for the next week also. I was getting really psyched up about starting to go walking with the kiddos, but it appears it will have to wait at least another week. On a positive note, we do have our midwife appointment next week.
I will never get tired of hearing that heartbeat. I also intend to ask if she has any suggestions or thoughts about the varicose veins. It should be interesting to see what she says.
I hope you all have a great week!
