Well, apparently the elevation in white blood cells at my last appointment was for a reason. The kids and I have been fairly ill this past week. Jeremy was the only one, thankfully, that did not get it. It is nice for at least one of us to be well. It started out on Sunday with me feeling completely wiped out. Anytime I would stand up, I felt really weak and like I was having low blood sugar issues all day long. It was a little depressing not being able to enjoy the time together with my family, particularly since it was a beautiful day. I could not believe it,but it got all the way up to 70 that day, and I was stuck laying around just trying to recover.
Monday was a little better and I felt that maybe I was going to beat this crud. Then Tuesday and Wednesday came and got progressively worse. Of course my husband had work on those days, so the kids and I just tried to survive. I feel so blessed to be married to such a great guy, working all day, then coming home to make dinner, doing a number of other household chores, and taking care of all of us. I am so thankful that we are finally on the mend.
I have been taking the cayenne to try and help with the varicose veins, and overall it has been going okay. Most of the time it does not bother me when I take it, but sometimes it feels like mild heartburn after I take it. I have found that drinking a little milk or eating some yogurt will help put out the fire though. While I was ill, I did very little of anything. As a result, I noticed that the part of my leg with the varicose veins really started to ache pretty bad. I was not impressed. When I was finally well enough to get out and get some exercise again though, it thankfully went away.
This week, my mom and dad started up their long-haul truck driving again, because work was just too slow where my dad was working. We are sad to see them start this again, since we will not be seeing them near as often again. I know they were not looking forward to it either, but it is a job. It is for a different company this time, and they are supposed to be able to visit more frequently since the company has a terminal in Boise. My mom already told them when they were hired that she will be taking some time off in July around baby time so that she will not miss it this time, and they were okay with that. So assuming nothing weirdo happens, my mom should actually be able to be there this time. That is encouraging to me. Here are some pictures of the kiddos checking out the truck before they headed off. They love any chance they get to be inside Poppa and Grandma's truck.
I hope you all have a great week!
