Week 11
Of Prenatals and Birthday Parties

Greetings again!

So it's been a week and there have been a few exciting developments... okay, "exciting" might be an overstatement.

At the time of writing this, I have just finished week 11. I understand from the tons of mailing lists that I have signed up to, my baby is now about the size of a fig and its body is mostly formed. Mike was good enough to point out that he thought we were having a human baby, not a fig and I briefly considered the advantages to raising a fig over a human child but quickly decided that yes, I would rather have a human baby as well. There really isn't much for those emails to tell us yet, is there? I mean, once the fetus becomes sensitive to light - now that's when it starts becoming truly exciting to check on its development!

But back to my week...

Nausea and vomiting continues as before. *whine whine, moan, complain,* Random sugar checks are still bad. Other than that, no new symptoms worth reporting.

I finally had my first prenatal! That was - um - fun (?). Anyhoo, I have all my requisitions for IPS, blood testing, ultrasounds... just have to call and book that appointment. Now, blood tests do not scare me however... these blood tests are fasting blood tests. Severe morning sickness and fasting do not get along well and I get to be stuck in the middle of this feud. I am NOT looking forward to this. So once again, Mike gets to play nurse and limo driver so that I won't kill myself driving to and from the lab that morning. We're going to do that this week (so you'll get to hear about it in the next entry - lucky you!) to get it over with. The ultrasound won't be an issue. I had so many of them with Matthew I'm used to them now.

In other news, my birthday is this Monday (the 28th - when I'll really be 32) and we had our big par-tay with the gang this past weekend. It was great! There were tons of people, lots of kids, too much food, and a fantastic birthday cake! As usual a great time was had by all - especially the kids who had great fun getting covered in the very blue icing on the cake (underwater themed decoration). Actually, the adults looked pretty blue afterwards too - kind of like we were all morphing into smurfs. Now, that's a sign of a good party!

Well, that's about it for now... if I try to come up with something else to babble about I'll end up rambling endlessly and I'll lose what readers I have.

Until next week!
