Week 34
Mat Leave Begins and the Big Brother Turns 4!

Sorry for the delay folks. It didn't occur to me until Monday night that I had completely missed my Sunday evening deadline for posting.

So let's get down to it, shall we?

This was my last week at work as next week I have appointments all week. I'll fill you in on those later.

We had a mini-party for me at work because we'll take any opportunity to eat cake. It was a very good cake too - Oreo. Nummies! And since we were relatively short-staffed, there was lots to go around.

Now for the big story of the week. This entire week was a lead-up to one very important event:

On the weekend, Matthew celebrated his 4th birthday! We had a Cars theme complete with a Lightning McQueen cake decorated by yours truly. This is the first time I have followed decorating instructions... not nearly as difficult as I imagined it would be. Gotta' love those folks at Wilton! The cats were sequestered in the master bedroom for the duration of the party - one of the mothers of the kids is very allergic to them and even our beast cat believes he's social... Their presence at the party would lead to one mother in anaphalactic shock and several scratched and bitten kids. So we thought it best to simply remove them from the premises. The party was a total success - one kid got so dirty in the back yard, he had to have a bath (personally, I didn't care about dirt tracked through my house, but this was to make the mother happy). Matthew scored lots of good loot and we were all plenty exhausted by the evening. The following day, we cleaned up the fallout, gave Matthew his presents from us (remembered them around lunch time), and spent the whole day inside as it was pouring rain all day. Welcome Fall! It truly is my favourite season.

In other news, I remain pregnant and diabetic. Next week will be busy as well - lots of appointments and on the weekend I sit my final examinations for Registered Pharmacy Technician (don't worry, they've planned for bathroom and food breaks).

That's about it for now,

'Til next week!
