Happy Mother's Day to all moms! I hope you all had a great day with family! Naren took me and Svara out to my favorite Mexican restaurant on Saturday for Mother's Day lunch. Then on Sunday we visited his sister's house since his parents were there for the day. Svara wished me a happy mothers day about 100 times and drew me LOTS of nice pictures for presents.
Other than that it has been a pretty low-key week. Our long paycheck wait is over, Naren picked it up on Friday and now tomorrow or the next day we can withdraw money and finally get on with some shopping! My list of things we need and want is growing!
I've been feeling a few light kicks and bumps each day. Usually I feel it while I'm sitting at the couch and sometimes at the computer. We've pretty much settled on a name, but we are not sharing it quite yet. Naren wants to 100% settle on the name, but I feel like it's a little bit early. Not that I'm very motivated to look at more names either.
My sciatic nerve is acting up now and then. If it's acting up my leg feels weird and numb while I'm trying to sleep and I just can't sleep like that! But if Naren gives me a massage then I'm okay again for a few days. So for now it's a pretty easy fix, hopefully it stays that way!
I've been thinking more about the birth this week. Before Svara was born we had a prenatal class at the hospital that included one session about childbirth. Besides that I briefly scanned through books at the bookstore and read a lot of birth stores online. I don't think I was well enough prepared at all. So this time I'm going to try to be a bit more prepared. I'm hoping to be able to find one or two good books here and maybe watch some videos online. Feel free to e-mail me with any resource suggestions that you found very helpful! I'm hoping to have a natural birth this time with no pain medication, but I'm also open to having an epidural if my labor is as long as it was last time. But I want some natural coping techniques under my belt this time! And when I watch some videos I'll have Naren watch with me as well. He was great last time, but I think sometimes he didn't quite know how to help me best. I know the birth is still quite far away, but it's not too early to start preparing, right?
I'm still trying to stay on top of things at home. Some days I have enough energy to make it to the end of the day. Other days I peter out around 5pm and just can't do anything else and my brain feels all hazy. Some days I manage to cook for lunch and supper in the morning so come evening I don't have to do much which is nice!
Tonight is pizza and a movie at home. Time to get Svara her dinner and then put her to bed so we can have our little inside "date". See you next week!
