Hi!! My name is Jennifer, and I am a 34 year old mother of 4 beautiful daughters. My daughters are Tiara 14, Jalen 12, Cheyanne 11 and lastly Cianna who is 8. I am married to my best friend Cal, and we have been married for 12.5 years. I work full time as a Supervisor at a local hospital.
In 2008 at the young age of 30, my husband was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, and he underwent 8 rounds of r-chop. It was after the sixth round that they found a tumor on his kidney that was not shrinking. He ended up having a partial nephrectomy at which time we learned he had two primary cancers, Lymphoma and Renal Cell Carcinoma. Living through this gave us a stronger sense of family and we wanted to add an addition to our family.
Mid 2010 we asked his Oncologist if he thought we would be able to conceive at which time he asked why we did not bank sperm . . . we didn't bank any because nobody ever mentioned it to us. We did tons of research online and could not find any success stories of conceiving after r-chop. Funny how on the Internet you can find way more negative then positive. About seven months ago we had his sperm count checked and low and behold all was fine. I started to wonder what is wrong with me?
In March I saw my doctor and she determined my progesterone levels were off so the plan was to start Clomid after my next period. In April I surprised my husband with a trip to see his family in South Carolina. Who knew all it would take is him going away for 5 days? My next period never came so we never started the Clomid because we learned I am PREGNANT. We could not be more excited, yet scared to death.
I look forward to sharing our journey with you. We should be welcoming a new bundle of joy in mid December.
