Week 12
Well, if this hasn't been the week to feel sorry for myself, then I don't know when that would be. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, two ER visits, tons of phenergan to keep even ginger ale down and finally a UTI and antibiotics! At least, I am finally feeling better. I can also stay awake for more than about 3 hours at a time, which has been a long time coming with all the illness I have been experiencing.
We have been sick, tired and grumpy all week. Today, Emily screamed for 4 1/2 hours. I knew something was wrong, but her doctor is out of town. So, I finally called my mother. She suggested that I check Emily's urine, and sure enough, the child has a UTI just like her mommy! So, Mom called in a prescription of antibiotics for her and we can take them together.
I am finally reaching a point when I can breath a sigh of relief. After four days on the antibiotics, I have not thrown up in three! I am finally not sleeping all day and night, just most of it. Most importantly, I have reached the 12 week mark without any incidents, and I have heard my baby's heartbeat. So, it appears that I really am going to have a baby this Christmas.
I am actually getting excited about Christmas Day around our house! We have banned all the relatives from coming anywhere near the new baby until it is two weeks old. So, I am thinking about a wonderful, nice, private Christmas morning. Now, if there was some way to ensure that baby makes its appearance BEFORE Christmas. I am, after all, due December 23 or 24 as it is!
