See Those Sparks? That is my egg donor cycle coming to a screeching halt! You probably got the point from the title of this journal entry. My egg donor cycle has come to a sudden and unexpected halt. My donor developed a health condition and had to cancel. I am not certain of the nature of her health problems. It sounded like it had something to do with her medications. I may call the Egg Donor Coordinator back this week and see if she can give me more information. I have every indication that she is fine, just unable to continue. ADVERTISEMENT My husband and I are very disappointed. We are also out quite a sum of money on my medications and the donor's medications (you would gasp if you saw how expensive Lupron is). This whole procedure is a gamble, and part of the agreement is that we will foot the bill. At this time, I am struggling to come to terms with this. I was terribly frustrated and disappointed when I first received the news. This is actually my third donor. My first donor dropped out of the program, after I started my medications. This is supposed to be almost unheard of. I wrote about my second donor, and that unsuccessful cycle which occurred last summer. This donor who just canceled her cycle was my third donor. I am finding my footing again, and will write about this "footing" next time. I'd write about it now, but I am not quite there yet. I am also writing a song to the child that will someday be a part of my household and my life, and that is therapeutic also. I'll let you know more next week.
