Week 10 (Again)
~ Good News and Bad News
All right, I'll start with the news we've all been waiting for: the ultrasound results. The little one seems to be doing fine, kicking around, however we're a week earlier than we thought we were. Strangely, though, that somehow made my due date also a week earlier at May 23 (I know, it doesn't make sense to me either). So, I have to go back in two weeks to get another ultrasound and the blood test for the IPS because it was too early this week. In a way it will be good, because that ultrasound will be about the time our last baby died (during Week 12), so I hope to feel more reassured. And then two weeks later I'll get to hear the heartbeat at my OB/GYN appointment.
And now for the bad news. This week I felt awful. I was shaky and exhausted and almost fainted twice. It turns out I have developed hypoglycemia, which is low blood sugar. That means I have to try and cut out sugar and white flour from my diet and eat a bit of protein every time I eat. I'm not even supposed to drink fruit juice (unless I feel faint, and then I'm supposed to drink a small glass of it). Talk about hard. I tried yesterday for the first time and I felt so much better than I had all week. Let me tell you though, trying to cut out sugar on Halloween is not an easy task! I did pretty well, though considering. But the Christmas season is going to be really hard. Oh well, I guess it's better than passing out.
That's all for this week. Until next week,
