Week 11
~ Pop Goes the Belly

Well, it's happened. I finally look pregnant, which would be a good thing, if it wasn't for the fact that we're still not ready to tell our families about the baby. We had a family dinner on Tuesday that was more than a little tricky, considering my belly, my aversion to chicken and my new hypoglycemic diet. I'm sure his family suspects something is up, but so far they've been too polite to ask.

Other than that, there's not too much news this week. I have been working very hard to stick to the no sugar, no white flour, hypoglycemic diet, and I've been feeling so much better. But it's hard. It's so funny that this pregnancy I wasn't really craving sweet things at all, until I found out I wasn't allowed to eat them. Now I want them all the time! Oh well, one day at a time.

I have my ultrasound on Tuesday morning, which I am looking forward to, and only a bit apprehensive about. Unfortunately Aaron can't make it to this one, so I really hope it goes ok. This will be about the time we lost the last baby (although we didn't find out until later), so I'm hoping to feel better after this ultrasound. I think I'll finally start to feel confident after I hear the heartbeat in two weeks, but we still don't want to tell people until after we get the IPS results (mid-December). I'm also supposed to get another ultrasound at 18 weeks, so it's possible that we'll know the baby's sex by the time we tell everyone we're expecting. I'm not sure which family will be more upset about the secret, mine, who haven't seen me in six months, or Aaron's who have seen me almost every week. Oh well, hopefully they'll understand that we're doing this for their sake, in case things go bad.

I think that's all for this week. Until next week,
~ Kaye
