~ No Amnio for Me!
So, as you can tell by the title of this entry, I finally got my Level II ultrasound and everything came back normal. (Yay!) As far as the doctor and technician can tell there's nothing to indicate that there's any chromosomal problems with the boys, so I don't have to get an amnio. One of the cysts has even disappeared already (and they think the other boy's will soon). The only bad news is that one baby is now two ounces heavier than his brother, but we're hoping that that's just a growth spurt. Hopefully the smaller one will have caught up by my next ultrasound in a week and a half. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
Other than that things are going well. The boys are moving and kicking like crazy - between the two of them I don't get much of a break. My tummy continues to stretch and grow (and itch!), and sleep is becoming harder and harder. I'm still getting some round ligament pains, but not as strong as they were last week. And Friday brought a new symptom - my first Braxton Hicks contractions. I had been out shopping during the day, then went out again with Aaron for dinner and more shopping, and I guess I just overdid it. My uterus was tensing uncomfortably (but not really painfully) and it stopped after I sat down for a bit and drank some water. I had a few more on the weekend, but nothing too serious.
I'll tell the doctor about them next week, but I'm nervous about reporting anything that might end me up on bedrest. I know, I know, bedrest is better than premature babies. I promise I'll be good. I'm getting my cervix checked at every appointment now, anyway, so I may as well mention it.
Ella has been doing well, although she seems to have given up on her potty, which is ok for now; we'll try again later. She also seems to be cutting her last few teeth, so we may have a rough week ahead of us since she already hasn't been sleeping well. We're still working on getting her to sleep in the big girl bed (she sleeps in the crib, which is pushed up to it). We figure we'll move the crib out once we've finally finished the boys' room and hopefully she'll adjust quickly. We're also trying to get her to walk more places, so that we can have the stroller for the twins. It's easier said than done because she just wants to run everywhere and I have trouble chasing her (I just get tired so fast). It's not too bad when Aaron's with us, but it's tricky on my own (not to mention it makes even the shortest trip much, much longer.)
Well, I think I'm going to wrap up things for this week. Tomorrow is Aaron's birthday and I need to go and run some errands in preparation for it. I think Ella will ride in the stroller for this trip, though, because I'm exhausted from a night of tossing and turning.
Until next week,
